COVID-19 Health & Safety

We have implemented all the recommendations from the CDC, as well as guidance passed down from state and local authorities.

 In addition to our already robust procedures, we have taken the following precautionary measures to ensure the safety of both staff and newly enrolled students during this pandemic.

Protective Mask 

D.E.C. Personnel are required to wear a protective face mask or facial covering while inside homes.

Individualized Desk (Pod Setting)

Students ages 3 years plus, will have their own individualized working station. Some students will be permitted to work at tables, and Personnel will ensure they are properly spaced apart.  

Temperature Check

Both D.E.C Personnel and Students will be screened for their temperatures prior to the start of each day. Anyone exhibiting a temperature of 100.3 or above will not be permitted to provide services.  

Hourly Observation Checks

Hourly observations will be conducted throughout the day, and temperatures may be taken. 

Hygiene

In addition to routine hand washing, hand sanitizer will be readily available for all parties. 

Team Effort 

When in-home services are being provided, parents and D.E.C. personnel are required to self-check and wear mask when necessary.  

Entrance

1. Personnel and children will sanitize their hands.

2. Removal of shoes and excess clothing.

3. Belongings will be placed in assigned areas.

Limited Class sizes

For the safety of our students and Personnel, only one Specialist will be assigned to each family/home.  

Toys

Toys will be assigned per day to each student. Plush toys hold more germs, and will not be given at this time. Toys, learning supplies & activity equipment will be sanitized throughout the day.
